Hotel Charges for High Speed Access can be a Ripoff!

Now that hotels can’t make any money from local and long distance phone calls, they are looking for a new revenue source. High Speed/wireless internet is considered a luxury in most hotels. It is amazong that many discount or budget hotels offer FREE wireless/high speed access while a $300.00 room might have a fee up to $20.00 a day or per 24 hours access. Many of the Westin hotels and Starwoods have free wireless in the lobby which I try to use when possible. Also Panera bread and other cafes offer free wireless. The public really needs to complain to the hotels that charge alot for the high speed. I was in Paris a few years ago and the fee would have been more than 30 euros per day. Right now with the US dollar being weak, that would be almost $45.00. A 10 minite walk to Mcdonalds got me some free access.
