Save those receipts this Season!
Retailers are becoming super tough with accepting returns on products. This holiday season make sure to ask for a gift reciept on every product you purchase and file those receipts in an envelope. The thermal paper reciepts will also detoriate when exposed to light. You might want to scan in the big purchase receipts for further preservation for products with special extended warranties. Every purchase made with a Visa card doubles the manufacturer warranty period. Also many other credit card like AMEX and other cards also offer this benefit. Pay with plastic as much as possible for some added consumer protection. Read the terms on returns from every store shop. I hate the policies of Best Buy and avoid them as much as possible. This past year I bought a computer monitor that was dead after a little more than two weeks. Best Buy would not accept it for a return or replacement. I had to give it to their service dept and wait almost a month to get it back. The snotty cashier told me that I should have an extended warrantly. What a fraud. The monitor had a manufacturer three year warranty anyway. And say no to all extended warranties. And buy at Costco as they are first class on any return with no questions asked. They don’t hassle you like Walmart or many of the discount retailers. Most items bought at Costco have a lifetime return policy.
