Wal-mart Early Black Friday Deals
Yesterday I went into Wal-mart on the way to work as I heard there were some early door buster deals that were being offered in advance of Black Friday which is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Wal-mart was offering an HD DVD player for 99.00, Laptop for $348.00, plasma tv for $999.00 and a Dale Earnhardt Jr. riding toy for kids. They were not making any profit on these deals, simply a test. As I was going in, I saw people wheeling out three dvd players at a time,so there was no limit per customer from what I could tell at my local store. They had a few pallets of items that went quickly. I think they had 3 tvs of which one was still there. The best deal was the laptop and the HD DVD player. I was able to get two of the dvd players. When I unboxed one of them we found that the unit had been returned. This is not the first time this has happened to me in the past week. The foam was missing from the box but everything else looked fine. It might have been returned by somebody who bought the unit and hooked it to a non HD Tv expecting a great picture. Many people still don’t fully understand HDTV. I bought some Halloween items including a fog machine that had been returned and did not work. Is Wal-mart taking returned items and reselling them without marking the packages. I did not think this was possible on electronic items. I will talk to a manager and find out. We are checking the DVD player to make sure everythng is working.
