My Company Hall Of Fame

I am building a list of retailers that I think do a great job with their customers. This includes sales, service, overall products, hot deals and no hassle returns or biling adjsutments if needed. It also means folling store policies on pricematching etc. I will continue to add to this list which is completely subjective and is based on my frequent experiences. I may also make a list that I will call the Hall fo Shame. I appreciate any comments or suggestions on companies to add.

1) Costco
2) Staples
3) Outback Steakhouse
4)Ruth Chris Steakhouse
5) Amazon.com-They do a fantasic job. Great customer service and they answer email. Rarely any issues with Amazon and the prices are usually good with some hot deals on certain items. Even when you buy and item from an Amazon merchant on their site you get excellent service and protection. For thousands of items I consider them the best ecommerce company far and away.
6) Buy.com
7) Merrill Lynch Credit Card-Really excellent service. Blows away AMEX Platinum card service for me! And this is a FREE card with no annual FEE. They really do a fantastic job andI am not talking to people in India or the Phillipines.
8) PF Changs
9) Publix Supermarkets

HALL OF SHAME

1) Paypal-Horrible customer servic. What customer service? Will they answer an email? Probably not. Many people have been unhappy with them.
2) Bestbuy- Where is upper management when there is a problem? I see so many “trainees” and people who think they know what they are talking about. On several occasions it has gotten so heated that I call the Toll Free Best Buy Headquarters and have them call the store to fix things. My favorite story is when I caled the head office on my cell phone and they asked to speak to the manager. The manager took my cell and did not believe it was the head office (as if I could set something up) After a few mins the employee grumbled that I was right.
3) Ebay-Their lack of caring is legendary. This is a case where service is poor for buyers and sellers.
