Buying Online to Save Money and Time!
These days most stores have no knowledgeable sales help. People I know wonder why I buy many items online rather than in store. I buy online to save money and in many cases to get better service and avoid hassles. This week I was buying some items in Circuit City. Circuit City made the news this year by firing the higher paid sales force and replacing them with help at a much lower salary level. I usually will buy from Circuit City on a special sale item. Many of these are loss leaders to get you in the store. I buy online with in store pickup. The items are ready in 24 minutes or you get a $24.00 gift card. You go in show Id and the credit card used and you are out the dorr usually in minutes. Yesterday I needed to go in and pick up a good deal on an LCD monitor. First I had to chase a salespersona across the sales floor. then I had to locate the item myself as he had no idea. If you are going into a store like Circuit City, no matter what you need to be informed about what you are buying. Ovoid those extended warranty offetrs as well. I suggest going to Amazon.com for reviews of the item you want and circuitcity.com for reviews and info. Search google for product reviews and comparisons as well. I use reviews from tecch oriented sites, not just the major news/media sites although they can be helpful as well. If you are uninformed you will pay more and get less. Impulse buying can hurt if you don’t have the research or knowledge of a major purchase.
