Price Matching-A Rarely Used Great Way to Save

Many major retail store chains offer a price matching policy. Basically the idea is that th store will match the price on an item offered in an ad by another major retailer. They don’t match internet retailers as this used to be a great loophole. Some like Circuit City will also credit an additional 10% of the difference in price. Circuit City offers a 30 day price protection. These programs are used in advertising etc by rarely are used by anyone. Sometimes the store will call the other store to make sure the item is actually in stock. The small print also eliminates limited stock items and out of business sales. This policy is even offered at Wal-Mart. I find Circuit City to be very nice about it. Bestbuy will give the 10% difference only if you pay for the item at Bestbuy and bring the paperwork to the service desk. Costco and the wholesale clubs do not offer any price matching. Most will not pricematch items sold after rebate or those items offered with some sort of extra bonus product.
