The New IPhone-Yes or No?

iphoneI am one of the biggest fans of the Apple Ipod. I think the ipod is a great product, and I own the ipod video, 2nd gen shuffle, first and second gen Nano. I have also gotten a few of these for free through various promotions. For now I think I stay on the sidelines, and I suggest others do the same for now. Does the Iphone really replace the IPOD?At $599.00 for 8 gigs you cant store much video. It’s ok for songs, but 8 gigs is not much these days. Considering you need a 2 year contact with ATT, the Iphone becomes an expensive proposition. Existing ATT customers must extend another 2 years. The data network is running on a slower ATT data network. The ATT blackjack phone does data on the 3G network. The new Iphone uses a much slower data network. You can use the Iphone in a WIFI area, but there still are not enough WIFI areas for FREE these days. Give the Iphone some time to develop. I think there will be some improvements by early next year in features and possibly pricing at some point. ATT is trying to maximize every last penny of profit on thsi phone. You cannot add a SIM card for worldwide useage either. This is very unusual, however ATT wanted to make sure that consumers could not hack the phone and use it on another carrier. There is alot of hype on the Iphone. I think it will probably be a fantastic product. At these costs it pays to wait it out.
